How to get
YELCHO IN PATAGONIA IS LOCATED AT KM 253 OF ROUTE 7 (CAMINO AUSTRAL) 55 KM SOUTH OF CHAITEN. YOU CAN REACH YELCHO BY CAR, BOAT, BICYCLE OR BY PUBLIC TRANSIT, FROM THE NORTH OR SOUTH. ARRIVING TO CHAITÉN BY FERRY FROM PUERTO MONTT OR BY ROAD FROM THE EAST (FUTALEUFÚ) OR FROM THE SOUTH (COYHAIQUE, ETC).
Terrestrial Route
You can drive to Yelcho in Patagonia through Argentina, crossing in Puyehue (Osorno) to Villa La Angostura and arriving in Bariloche, 125 kilometers from the border (Cardenal Zamoré). Esquel is 300 kilometers from Bariloche and Futaleufú is 73 kilometers (the last 40 kilometers are dirt roads). From Futaleufú to Yelcho there is a 100 kilometer stretch of dirt road, taking about 2 hours by car. Airway
There are regular flights to Chaitén, 60 km from Yelcho in Patagonia. It takes about an hour to get from Chaitén to the spa by car. You can also fly to Esquel in Argentina, which is a 3-hour drive from Yelcho in Patagonia. Marine Route
From Puerto Montt and Quellón you can take ferries to Chaitén regularly. From Hornopirén to Caleta Gonzalo, there is also a ferry that leaves every day. It takes about 2 hours to get from Caleta Gonzalo to Yelcho in Patagonia. Departure days and times can be consulted at: www.navieraustral.cl
Arriving by Helicopter
