The difference is the selection: we've curated the shop around what travelers on the Carretera Austral actually need, which is different from what a town supermarket stocks.
This applies whether you're staying in the hotel, one of the cabins, or the campsite. The shop is available to everyone on the property.

Fuel and EV Charging at Km 253
We're a fuel stop, not just a hotel.
For motorcyclists, we offer diesel and gasoline on-site. Given the distances between reliable fuel sources on the Carretera Austral, knowing exactly where you can fill up — and that the stop is worth making — is worth planning around. You don't need to be a guest to refuel.
For electric vehicle travelers, we have EV charging stations available on the property. EV infrastructure on the Carretera Austral is still sparse, and we're one of the reliable charging points in the Yelcho area. If you're routing your trip around charging availability, mark us on your map.
Combined with the shop and the café, Km 253 makes a solid mid-day stop even if you're not spending the night.
